Flames destroy home in Creekwood

Five fire departments responded to a fast-moving blaze Aug. 15, but were unable to save a family home in the Creekwood subdivision north of Floresville. Fortunately for residents Elizabeth and Jack Campbell, they were at the home of their daughter, Krystal Franklin, in the River Bend subdivision in Floresville when the fire occurred. “They had just arrived and then got calls from neighbors about the fire,” Franklin said.
