Council makes sweeping changes to FEDC board

FLORESVILLE — The Floresville Economic Development Corp. board will soon have a new makeup, following changes implemented May 14 by the Floresville City Council. The council approved a new selection policy for boards and committees, allowing every member of the council to appoint a member to a board, committee, or commission. City Manager Andrew Muñoz told the council that the plan was to make every board seven members, “since there are six of you and we need a tiebreaker.” Exceptions would be made for boards such as the upcoming City Charter Review Committee, which was agreed to have 15 members,...
